Anne Harper, Managing Director CPD PG Coaching, MCIPD

Anne Harper

Anne was managing director of a hotel at 25 before starting her own business in 1999 as a facilitator, trainer and coach working in the tourism and hospitality industry before changing to work with some of the major oil and gas operators.

She has always had a passion for understanding people’s behaviour and ways of communicating. She initially specialised in customer service, communication skills and people management, more recently has focused on behavioural based people development for leaders and supervisors for major operators, most recently Maersk, Bluewater and BP Shipping.

Anne’s strength is her ability to communicate, engage and motivate all levels of personnel within an organisation to achieve their goals.

She is a very enthusiastic, friendly communicator and her relaxed style ensures she is able to bring out the best in others.

Anne’s background provides her with a broad and deep understanding of how businesses work and a clear understanding of the role clear communication between people plays in the effectiveness of organisations.

She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and completed her Post Graduate in Coaching at Aberdeen University.

Julie Newborough, Operations Director CPD PG Coaching

Julie Newborough

Julie has over 15 years experience of working on various training projects mainly within the Oil and Gas industry : BP Northsea, BP Angola, Talisman Energy, Marathon Oil, Petro-Canada and BG. The training projects delivered have been both large and small, to audiences onshore, offshore and to remote sites � and to all levels of the business. Other industries have included Transport, Public Sector, Engineering and Manufacturing. Her roles have included Training Consultant, Team Leader, Project Manager and Business Manager.

Julie is a qualified and experienced Coach and practitioner. As well as delivering Behavioural Safety Coaching courses she has also written and applied training strategies, which have focused on process, competencies and behaviours.

In her spare time Julie carries out voluntary work with Scottish Marriage Care as a pre-wedding preparation facilitator.

Christine Burgess

Christine Burgess

Christine started working as trainer, manager and director at Aberdeen University’s Language Centre. She was key to it becoming a thriving commercial unit with close links to the oil industry.

Christine is a certified master practitioner and coach and with Anne Harper they have delivered a People Based Development Programme for organistations including Maersk, BP and Shell.

Christine has had enormous success in changing behaviours that has an impact both at work and home.

Sheena Miller

Sheena Miller

A management and communication skills trainer for over two decades, Sheena began her career working within the Contracts/Commercial sector of major oil operators, based in Aberdeen.

In 1989, Sheena seized the opportunity to move into learning and development as an independent consultant. She specialises in communication and leadership, performance management, training of trainers and behavioural safety. Over the years, she has worked extensively with private sector organisations (BBC Scotland, Compaq, BAE Systems, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Diageo, Maersk, Halliburton, Subsea 7 and Petrofac, amongst many others) in Scotland, England and Norway. Her work as a behavioural safety trainer for the offshore industry has taken her to SE Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

She believes that clear, honest and more effective communication between individuals can avoid many of the common management and discrimination issues which occur in the workplace. Sheena has delivered highly innovative, creative and memorable training to in excess of 13,000 participants since starting her training and facilitation career. Her aim is to ensure measurable and relevant learning from each event, in line with client needs and strategy. Methodology and objectives of each of her training sessions ensure that participants are able to integrate new learning and insights into their working practices immediately, with measurable changes and quantifiable results for the company.

She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a qualified Practitioner and has an MA (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies.

Su Prentice

Su Prentice

Su is a Professional Development Consultant, a qualified Coach/Mentor and facilitator.

She has always worked in the people industry either voluntary as a Special Constable or with Victim Support through to a professional capacity by sourcing, managing and developing people in business.

She has had exposure across all industries and sizes ranging from SME's (small & medium enterprises) to major operators most recently Arcadion, Red Spider, ADTI and gained a huge amount of personal satisfaction coaching private individuals on a one-to-one basis.

The training she delivers is based on extensive real-life and business experience, backed up by theory and tools.

Her approach is flexible, fresh and focused and style is professional but warm, building relationships with people whilst positively encouraging discussion, insights and action.

Su is qualified in psychometric testing and has been involved in graduate recruitment and assessment centres.

Catherine Bowie

Catherine Bowie

Catherine Bowie, a director of CBTS training, is acknowledged as one of the leading customer service trainers in Scotland.

Since 1995 CBTS has specialised in soft skills training for the service sector. The company has developed and delivered a wide range of courses in Communication Skills, Customer Service and Selling Skills as well as Negotiating and Influencing Skills, Assertiveness Training and Networking Skills.

Catherine also offers coaching either on a one to one basis or in small groups. For many years Catherine has also been involved in VQ assessment for Customer Service and Management and she remains a tireless campaigner for improved customer service across all sectors.

She has worked for a variety of Blue Chip companies throughout the UK.
